Software Technologies Group (STG) is looking for bright people with a passion for software development and who love to be challenged. If you're the kind of person who likes to try new things and is always looking to learn new skills, you may be just the person we are looking for. This means we're not looking for everyone, but only a select few.
Our in-house interview process typically involves speaking with 2 to 3 of the technical staff members you'll be working with plus some of the management staff. Interviews at STG are a no BS sort of affair; everyone here does or has cut some pretty heavy duty code so we can handle and appreciate the details of the complicated projects you've worked on. The thing to keep in mind is, it's not just what you know but how you think that gets us excited; our interviews aren't quizzes so much as they're quests to find other great people to join us.
One thing is for sure, you won't be wasting your time talking to some HR staffer who thinks a device driver is a special kind of chauffeur. You'll be spending time with folks who can understand, appreciate, and respect what you're all about. As far as the interview itself, try not to show up 2 or 3 hours in advance (it happens more than you think), we want to make sure we're as ready to interview you as you are to be interviewed so on time or 15 minutes early is plenty to make a good impression.
Well, you're in luck because if you follow the blimp, you'll get the full details on the when and where. We're going to be all over the top schools in the midwest so keep your eyes open and your schedule clear. Check it out - it might just change your life!
We offer a friendly, informal office environment featuring a wide array of computer hardware and operating systems. (See our Services page for details on of some of the hardware, operating systems, and protocols that we use for development.) Quality reading material is available for easy access.
We keep the coffee hot, the drinks cold, and the munchies stocked (all free of course). All you've got to do is dig in, roll your sleeves up, and do the best work you've ever done.
We emphasize excellence in our services and try hard to eliminate the distractions that often get in the way of producing great work. You'll have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest folks around in an environment that's actually conducive to getting things done. You won't spend all day writing some memo to a clueless boss to justify spending $50 on something that's going to make your life easier; we're committed to great work and supporting our staff in whatever way makes sense to help make great work happen.
We're located in the western Chicago suburb of Westchester, Illinois. We are conveniently located near the major expressways, approximately 15 minutes from O'Hare airport, about a block south of the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) on Mannheim Road.
It's a nice suburban area with good living and access to all of the happening things a place like Chicago can offer. Sorry, but some things you won't find are California-style real estate prices and traffic jams (somehow we don't think you're missing anything).
