Two more Thursdays left til summer! I have an exam on Friday of finals so I will not be joining the group next week. I will still be down here this summer, in an apartment even! So unless you want to hear my idle chatter all summer, I am still going to continue my weekly song lyrics value-added/removed rewording thang. -------------------- New Order Republic Regret Maybe I've forgotten my name or how to dance Or is it just every move I've ever known? Those moves I dont regret. Save stress for another day, It's almost finals week comeon kids, lets dance exams away. I would like a place I could call my own, [bar names pass in front of me] have a dance all of my own. Dancing every day could be a start. I should not complain about this passing thought. I am dancing you see, almost all the time. Those moves once were stranger. But now they are mine. I wouldn't even trust you, [you said...] "Dont dress up all festive," [CherryPoppinDaddys-ZootSuit.mp3] "You're dancing at the limits," [you dance like MC Hammer on crack] "And you dont know wherewith!" [With+what? Why?] You may think that I'm out of hand, that I'm naive, I'll understand. On this occasion, it's not true. Look at me, (I'm) without a brew. Is there a place I can call my own? Somewhere to drink and dance away from home. There's nothing to do this Thursday night. What can I do with this dancing thought... [...thoughts of dancing...] I get so confused, dancing all the time. Those moves once were stranger. But now they are mine. Joes is a place I can call my own. Go there to drink and dance away from home. I start again every Thursday night. Retro music playing, even by Corey Hart. [Sunglasses at night] Just wait till tomorrow. [tomorrow's Thursday!] I guess that's what I'm trying to say, just before this thought fell apart. [scene breaks apart like glass.] =========================== I played this one too many times, and couldn't think of how to reword it, so may it get stuck in your head too. :) ------------ Erasure Pop The First 20 Hits A Little Respect --------------------------- (written by Clarke/Bell) --------------------------- I try to discover A little something to make me sweeter Oh baby refrain from breaking my heart I'm so in love with you I'll be forever blue That you give me no reason Why you're making me work so hard That you give me no That you give me no That you give me no That you give me no Soul, I hear you calling Oh baby please give a little respect to me And if I should falter Would you open your arms out to me We can make love not war And live at peace with our hearts I'm so in love with you I'll be forever blue What religion or reason Could drive a man to forsake his lover Don't you tell me no Don't you tell me no Don't you tell me no Don't you tell me no Soul, I hear you calling Oh baby please give a little respect to me I'm so in love with you I'll be forever blue That you give me no reason Why you're making me work so hard That you give me no That you give me no That you give me no That you give me no Soul, I hear you calling Oh baby please give a little respect to me Soul, I hear you calling Oh baby please give a little respect to me --Steve Steven Bytnar Computer Engineering U. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign "That is why it is called a development version.
