Broadcast v2.1 is an AppleTalk Chooser Extenion that was originally written by Joachim Lindberg in September 1992. It is a very stable piece of software and has survived System 7, System 7.5, and continues to work under System 8.x. This software allows Macintosh users to send short messages to eachother using the naming conventions used by File Sharing on AppleTalk networks.
Many people would like to see a new version of this program, especially in educational areas.
This project is mostly incomplete. MacWarriors may pick it up someday. Wait and see.
The networking code is based on Classic AppleTalk functions and will be an obsolete code base when MacOS X becomes a reality.
WarriorCast with sending&receiving capabilites. Not available Just start typing and press enter. The only problem is that there is an AppleTalk address hard coded it, so it is not very useful right now. I was not able to get this working without having it crash after sending the second message.
WarriorCast 1.0 with receive-only capabilites. Registers on the net as "WarriorCast".
WarriorCast 1.5 with receive-only capabilites. Lets you specify your Broadcast name. This is very useful for testing because it responds FAST and does not put up annoying dialogs.
