Flexistack USB Protocol Stack

Software Technologies Group has entered into a licensing and distribution agreement with Philips Semiconductors for its Flexistack software technology.

Flexistack is a suite of software products designed to deliver full functionality for Philips USB semiconductor products. Philips is a leader in delivering Universal Serial Bus solutions, including the ISP1362, the first in a family of USB On-The-Go solutions which integrates the functionality of an OTG controller, an advanced host controller and a peripheral controller onto a single chip.

The agreement provides Philips direct access Software Technologies Group's USB development resources to deliver custom USB class drivers and to extend Flexistack with specialized porting and integration services. This enables Philips’ customers to more readily adopt the USB chips, implement them in a variety of devices and environments and bring their products to market more quickly.

Both Philips Semiconductor and Software Technologies Group have a history of technological leadership in the USB marketplace.

In 2001, Software Technologies Group developed one of the first commercial USB 2.0 protocol stacks and associated drivers for The SCO Group’s OpenServer and UnixWare product lines, including support for Philips EHCI controllers..

In 2001, Philips Semiconductors announced the industry's first complete USB 2.0 semiconductor family, including a USB 2.0-compatible Host Controller, Interface, Transceiver and Hub Controller.
