Networking is complex and in many ways getting more complex. With the advent of Apple's OS X operating system with integral support for Bonjour (formerly Rendezvous - Apple's Zeroconf implementation), many of the Zero Configuration technologies may already be kicking around your network.
So how can you leverage this on your Windows system? One way is using STG's Zeroconf Neighborhood Explorer, a Windows plugin that will display any locally advertised web sites automatically.
By using STG's Zeroconf Neighborhood Explorer, you'll see Bonjour-advertised web sites as soon as they are available — users don't need to search and dig for them nor will you have to continuously publish new memos or other updates to keep users abreast of what's happening.
After installing the Zeroconf Neighborhood Explorer you'll see both a icon on your desktop as well as an icon in 'Folders' section of Windows Explorer. A quick click and you'll see all of the Bonjour-advertised web sites on your LAN. What could be easier to use than that?
But that isn't all; double click on any of the web sites displayed and Zeroconf Neighborhood Explorer will bring up your default browser displaying the selected site.
